Bumping Into Brilliance: Meeting Nancy Cam-Winget at Cisco Live

At Cisco Live, I had the unexpected privilege of meeting Nancy Cam-Winget, a Cisco Fellow whose work has shaped the future of network security and innovation at Cisco. Our conversation was a journey through the fascinating parallels between today’s cutting-edge technologies—AI and Quantum Computing—and pivotal moments in computing history, like ENIAC and Babbage’s Analytical Engine. As a history enthusiast and collector of 8-bit computers, I found these analogies both insightful and inspiring, reminding me of how far we’ve come and how much further we have to go. Nancy also shared her passion for mentorship, recommending the Talking with Giants session to aspiring engineers. It was a powerful reminder of the incredible people you can meet and the thought-provoking discussions you can have at Cisco Live.
