Cisco Live 2025: By Day, Innovation. By Morning and Evening, Exploration.

Last week, I had the chance to attend Cisco Live 2025 in sunny San Diego — a week packed with innovation, learning, and catching up with some of the sharpest minds in the industry. From the buzzing energy of the World of Solutions to breakout sessions on AI, networking, and security, the days were full of insight and inspiration. I also had the opportunity to connect directly with several U.S. Navy commands, diving into mission priorities and discussing how Cisco’s evolving technology can help meet their unique operational needs.

During the day, I was immersed in keynotes and technical deep dives — including the incredible showcase on Cisco AI Defense and its partnership with NVIDIA NeMo. It’s one thing to read about the future of secure AI. It’s another to sit in a darkened arena and feel it coming to life through laser-lit visuals and bold ideas.

But in the early mornings before the sessions, and again as the city lights came on in the evening, I grabbed my camera and turned my focus outward.

San Diego at the edges of the day is a canvas.

I wandered through Little Italy, where the iconic sign hovers over calm streets and open cafés. I captured the lion-head fountain, gently bubbling under strings of lights as the day began. In the evenings, I returned to find the square buzzing with conversation and activity.

The Gaslamp Quarter offered its own rhythm — color, motion, and energy. I caught street scenes lit in neon, Cisco Live’s night party pulsing through city blocks, and pedicabs streaking by in glowing green. One long-exposure shot captured the movement so perfectly, it feels like the city never sleeps.

There was stillness too — like the peaceful solitude of two Vespas resting quietly before sunrise or a leafy archway framing a hidden residential courtyard. From Spanish architecture bathed in morning light to bursts of bougainvillea climbing wrought iron fences, the details told stories of their own.

Each morning and evening, camera in hand, I recharged in a different way. San Diego wasn’t just the setting for Cisco Live — it was the visual rhythm that balanced the pace of innovation with the pace of life.
